Quality control and food safety
What we test, what we document and what travels with the pallet — because a packaging certificate is only useful if it answers the question you will have in six months.
Incoming materials
Films, foils, adhesives, inks and sealants intended for food contact are sourced from compliant grades, and the corresponding declarations and technical data sheets are held on file and issued with the quote rather than after a customer audit asks for them.
Incoming rolls are checked for gauge, width, surface treatment level and visual defects. Treatment level matters more than most buyers realise: corona treatment decays with time and heat, and a film that has aged in a warehouse can reject ink or adhesive months later.
In-process control
Colour is measured against the signed target with a spectrophotometer and recorded in ΔE, on press and at intervals through the run. Registration, solvent retention, coating weight and lamination bond are monitored during production rather than judged at the end.
Converted formats are checked dimensionally and functionally: pouch dimensions and seal width, sleeve lay-flat, lid diameter and peel force, slit width and roll quality. A run that drifts is stopped and corrected, not sorted afterwards.
Release testing and retains
Before a lot ships we verify seal strength, bond strength, thickness and colour against the specification, and we keep a physical retain of every lot. The certificate of analysis travels with the pallet.
The retain is the part that matters when something goes wrong later. A complaint in month five is an argument without a retained sample and a diagnosis with one. Retains, colour targets and tooling are all held on file under your job number.
Traceability and complaint handling
Every roll and every case is labelled with the job number, lot, gauge, width and date. That allows us to trace a specific pallet back to its incoming materials and its press log.
If something fails in your plant, we want the lot number, photographs and, where possible, samples of the failure. We analyse, report what we find in writing — including when the cause was on our side — and agree a corrective action. A credit note is not a diagnosis.
What is verified before a pallet leaves
Food-contact compliance
Declarations and TDS for film, ink, adhesive and sealant, issued with the quote
Signed colour target
Spectrophotometric measurement in ΔE against the original, never the previous run
Seal and bond testing
Seal strength, peel force and lamination bond verified before release
Dimensional control
Gauge, width, pouch and lid dimensions, sleeve lay-flat checked in process
Lot retains
A physical retain of every lot held on file under your job number
Full traceability
Job, lot, gauge, width and date on every roll and case
