Six hundred packs a minute, a film that will not stretch and a shelf full of competitors — the category where machinability and shelf impact are the same problem.
Snack and confectionery packaging lives or dies on the machine. A flow-wrap running six or seven hundred packs a minute does not forgive a film that stretches, telescopes on the roll or has an inconsistent coefficient of friction. Most 'quality problems' in this category are actually running problems.
That is why BOPP dominates here: high stiffness at low gauge, dimensional stability at speed, good moisture barrier and a surface that prints brilliantly. Twist-wrap grades for individually wrapped candy add a mechanical requirement — the film has to hold the twist without springing back, which is a specification, not a hope.
On the shelf, this is a category fought on colour and finish. Metallized substrates with knocked-out white, pearlized film for a soft premium sheen, matte fields with registered spot gloss, and shrink sleeves for multipacks and promotions are the working vocabulary. We print all of them against a signed target so a promotional variant does not look like a different brand.
The families this sector orders most often — and any of them can travel on the same purchase order.

Yes, and for multi-machine plants it is the cheapest way to buy. One master print run, one colour target, several slit widths and core sizes delivered against one order. It lowers cost per kilo and keeps every line visually identical.
Almost always slip additive or corona treatment variation between lots, or film that has aged in a warehouse. We check treatment level at delivery and hold a consistent additive specification, and every roll is labelled with its lot so a running problem can be traced instead of argued about.
Mono-material PP structures now cover a large share of dry snack applications and run at commercial speeds. Where a metallized barrier is needed, an all-PP metallized structure keeps the mono-material story intact. We will tell you which SKUs can convert today.
