Why Global Flex

What actually changes when the packaging comes from one place

Six things our customers say made the difference, none of them about price alone.

We treat the artwork as part of the engineering

Most packaging problems start in prepress, not on the press. Our art desk rebuilds your file for the substrate it is actually going to print on — trap, white ink, bleed, barcode magnification, seal zones — and sends you a proof you can sign before a cylinder is ever engraved.

One supplier for the pouch, the seal and the label

A dessert cup needs the cup, the peelable lidding, the shrink sleeve and the carton label to agree on one colour. When four vendors print those four pieces, they never quite do. We print them on the same targets, in the same week, and ship them on the same pallet.

Structures specified for the process, not for the brochure

A pouch that fails is almost never a printing failure — it is a structure chosen for price and then asked to survive a retort, a hot fill, a freeze or eighteen months of oxygen. We spec the laminate against your process sheet and tell you plainly when a cheaper film will not hold.

Cross-border by design, not by accident

Our desk works in English and Spanish, quotes in dollars, and understands both a US retail spec sheet and a Mexican NOM label. Brands that fill in Baja and sell in California stop translating twice.

A recyclable path, offered before you ask for it

Mono-material PE and PP laminates, down-gauged structures and recycle-ready shrink sleeves are on the table from the first conversation. We will tell you what the change costs, what it protects and what it does not — no green adjectives without a data sheet behind them.

Answers in a day, not in a purchasing cycle

A quote request gets a human answer within 24 business hours, with the structure, the tooling cost, the minimum and the lead time written down. If we cannot hit your date, you hear it on day one and not the week you were supposed to fill.

How we work

From your process sheet to a pallet on your dock

Six steps, each with something you receive in writing before the next one starts.

01

Tell us what you are filling

Product, fill temperature, process, shelf life, machine and annual volume. Five answers are enough for us to know whether you need a three-layer laminate or a retort structure — and to quote it.

02

Structure proposal and written quote

Within 24 business hours you get the film structure layer by layer, the tooling cost, the minimum order, the lead time and the unit price. Two options when there is a real trade-off between cost and barrier.

03

Prepress, proof and signed colour target

We rebuild the artwork for the substrate, send a contract proof and, on colour-critical brands, a press-side draw-down. Nothing is engraved until you sign it.

04

Print, laminate and convert

Rotogravure or flexo, solventless or solvent lamination, slitting, pouch making, sleeve seaming or cup forming. Every step is logged against the job number so a reprint two years out still matches.

05

Release testing before it ships

Seal strength, bond strength, thickness, colour ΔE against the signed target and a physical retain of every lot. The certificate travels with the pallet.

06

Delivery, retains and the next run

We deliver to your dock in Southern California or to your customs broker for Baja, keep your cylinders and retains on file, and hold release stock so the reorder is a phone call.

Industries

The sectors we supply, and what each one actually needs

Food processing, wine, oils, coffee, snacks, dairy, foodservice and personal care — different problems wearing the same printed graphic.

Flexible packaging for the food processing industry

Food Processing

Sauces, ready meals, proteins, pulses and prepared components — packaging specified against your process sheet, not against a catalogue photograph.

  • Structures validated for retort, hot fill, freezing or modified atmosphere
  • Seal integrity that survives the filler, the process and distribution
  • Barrier specified to the real target shelf life, not to a round number
  • Rollstock cut and marked for the exact FFS machine on the floor
  • Food-contact declarations and technical data sheets with every quote
  • Traceable lots with retains so a complaint can be investigated
Flexible packaging for the wine & spirits industry

Wine & Spirits

Label, capsule, cork and bag-in-box from one supplier, run against one signed colour target — because a crest that changes shade between components is not a crest.

  • Wet-strength label papers and adhesives that survive an ice bucket
  • Capsules sized to your physical bottle finish, not to a nominal drawing
  • Corks matched to the intended drinking window and oxygen profile
  • US and Mexican mandatory panels maintained as one artwork job
  • Bag-in-box bladders and cases for by-the-glass and retail programmes
  • Vintage-dated and limited-edition runs without new tooling every year
Flexible packaging for the olive & edible oils industry

Olive & Edible Oils

Oxygen and light are the two enemies of an oil, and both of them get in through the packaging. Bag-in-box, high-barrier pouches and labels that survive an oily bottle.

  • EVOH bladders that exclude oxygen through a long open period
  • Complete light barrier, which glass and clear PET cannot provide
  • Fitments and pour spouts rated for viscosity and fill temperature
  • Label adhesives that resist oil migration at the bottle edge
  • Foodservice case sizes from three to twenty litres
  • Harvest-dated and single-estate label runs in small quantities
Flexible packaging for the coffee & tea industry

Coffee & Tea

Roasted coffee outgasses for days and stales in weeks. The valve, the barrier and the matte finish are three answers to three different problems.

  • One-way degassing valves positioned for a flat mounting area
  • Barrier matched to the code date, from three weeks to twelve months
  • Matte, kraft and soft-touch finishes that read as speciality
  • Recycle-ready mono-material options for short shelf-life programmes
  • Tin ties, zippers and flat-bottom formats for shelf presence
  • Small-run and seasonal single-origin labels without new tooling
Flexible packaging for the confectionery & snacks industry

Confectionery & Snacks

Six hundred packs a minute, a film that will not stretch and a shelf full of competitors — the category where machinability and shelf impact are the same problem.

  • Films that hold gauge and dimension at high flow-wrap speeds
  • Consistent coefficient of friction roll to roll and lot to lot
  • Twist-wrap grades that hold a twist without springing back
  • Moisture barrier appropriate to a crisp or a fat-bloom-sensitive product
  • Rollstock slit to multiple machine widths off one printed master run
  • Promotional and seasonal variants that match the base SKU exactly
Flexible packaging for the dairy & desserts industry

Dairy & Desserts

Cup, sleeve and lid as one tested set, with a peel force measured on your actual container instead of guessed from a resin name.

  • Peel force measured against your actual cup resin and sealing head
  • Anti-fog lidding wherever the container is transparent
  • Cold-chain performance from the filler through to the retail case
  • Tamper evidence via foil, sleeve band or weld-seal lidding
  • Flavour variants without new cup tooling, via sleeves or labels
  • Cup, lid, sleeve and case label shipped as one matched delivery
Flexible packaging for the foodservice & retail industry

Foodservice & Retail

Multi-unit operators, commissaries and private-label programmes: consistent supply, one colour standard across every location and lead times you can build a promotion around.

  • Blanket orders with scheduled releases against a forecast
  • Colour that holds across reorders and across locations
  • Lead times reliable enough to plan a promotion around
  • Cups, lids, sleeves and case labels consolidated on one order
  • Bag-in-box for by-the-glass wine and bulk oil in kitchens
  • Private-label families sharing one structure and one colour target
Flexible packaging for the nutraceuticals & personal care industry

Nutraceuticals & Personal Care

Tamper evidence, moisture barrier and a label that survives a bathroom shelf — the three requirements that decide whether a supplement or a cosmetic pack actually works.

  • Induction liners and foil seals sized to the closure and container
  • Moisture and oxygen barrier for hygroscopic powders and actives
  • Perforated tamper bands integrated into the sleeve, not added on
  • Adhesives rated for LSE plastics, oils, alcohol and humidity
  • Single-serve sachets and stick packs for sampling and dosing
  • Regulatory panels maintained per market on a shared front design
Testimonials

What our customers say

Brands that fill, print and sell on both sides of the border.

We moved our entry-level red to a three-litre bag-in-box and expected to lose the brand feel. The printed carton and the bladder came from the same job number and the colour matched our bottle label exactly. Six weeks after opening, the wine is still the wine.

Adriana M. Valle de Guadalupe, B.C. Bag-in-box for wine

Two previous suppliers gave us delamination after the retort cycle. Global Flex rebuilt the structure, ran a trial at our co-packer and stood next to the autoclave for it. Twenty-two months later we have not lost a single pouch to a seal failure.

Kevin T. Commerce, CA Retort pouches

We fill dessert cups in Tijuana and sell them in San Diego, so every artwork had to exist twice. Their desk handled the NOM panel and the US nutrition facts on the same job, and the peelable lid finally peels the same way on both lines.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The questions we answer on the phone every week, written down.

Line down or artwork due tomorrow?

Call (323) 395-2880 and ask for expedite. If the tooling exists, we can usually pull a run forward; if it does not, we will tell you honestly what the fastest real date is.

FAQ

It depends on the structure, not on the shape. Printed rollstock and pouches usually start around 300 to 500 kg of finished film per design, shrink sleeves and labels start at a few thousand impressions, and stock cups or unprinted film can be bought by the case. Tell us the annual volume and we will quote the smallest run that still makes commercial sense for you.

Rotogravure cylinders are a one-time cost per colour per design and are engraved for your artwork alone; flexo plates cost considerably less but are replaced more often. Pouch and sleeve dies are also one-time. The tooling is yours, we store it at no charge, and it is released to you or to another converter on request.

For a new design with new tooling, plan on four to six weeks from approved artwork: about a week for prepress and proofing, a week for engraving, and the balance for printing, lamination, converting and release testing. A repeat order on existing tooling normally ships in two to three weeks.

Yes, and we would rather match a physical sample than a Pantone number. Send us the current pouch, bottle label or carton; we measure it, build a draw-down on your actual substrate and issue a signed colour target that every future run is measured against.

Both. We sell printed and laminated rollstock for your own form-fill-seal line, and we sell converted formats — stand-up pouches, retort pouches, bag-in-box bladders, sleeves, labels, cups and lids — ready to fill.

The films, inks, adhesives and sealants we specify for food work are chosen from food-contact compliant grades, and we provide the corresponding declarations and technical data sheets with the quote. For retort, hot fill and frozen applications we also state the tested temperature range in writing.
